The point of this videoplayer ▶

I like using VLC, but it isn't perfect. It's got good volume boosting though.

Last time I checked, VLC still doesn't have any darkmode capabilities for some inexplicable reason. Not only that, for me at least, it takes like a minute to open — and I'm not opening some 34 hour audiobook, they're just random small videos I've downloaded. VLC also randomly glitches for me, could be my graphics card dying, but the video would distort and look terrible. I also don't know how to use it's playlist feature. :)

Also I'm not a programmer, so you will notice that it's got AI slop code all over it, hopefully you're okay with that because no one's paying me to compile all of this together.

How to use it ▶

It doesn't take long. You're just running a localhost server with python, it won't be on the internet.

Install Python if you haven't already.
Download txt file, and change txt extension to html.
Put the html file in the directory that has subfolders with videos or just media.
Open a command prompt in that folder.
Enter "python -m http.server 1111", 1111 can be any number, just change the server ip in the variables in the script too.
      Visit "http://192.168.1.112:1111/video-player.html" on your browser.

Better alternatives :P ▶

Awkwardly, after I was done with making this, I found out there's an even better alternative to a media library system, it's called Jellyfin.

It's better in every metric than my script, but I haven't used it yet at this time of posting this. Jellyfin is open-sourced, your location in the video is saved, you can go back five seconds, probably not AI slop, maybe you don't have to open a cmd prompt and host your server so you can listen and watch files from your computer on your mobile devices?

Well you're free to choose what you want to do, ultimately. But I'm just saying, mine's got two videoplayers. B)

I would put code here, but it's too long. Download: video player txt file.
